The Farmer's Luck

There was a farmer, and one day his prized horse ran away. His neighbors looked at him and said, "Oh! Such bad luck!" And the farmer replied, "Maybe."

The next day the horse came back with two wild stallions. His neighbors looked to him and said, "Oh! Such good luck!" The farmer replied, "Maybe."

The next day the farmer's son tried to tame on of the wild stallions but was kicked off, and he broke his leg. His neighbors looked to him and said. "Oh! Such bad luck!" And the farmer again replied, "Maybe."

But the next day the military came by to draft men for the war, but the son was injured so they were passed over. The farmer's neighbors looked at him and said, "Oh! Such good luck!" And the farmer smiled and replied in kind.

"Maybe."

Welcome Back

Winter break is over, but the time for new ideas and submissions has just begun. Welcome to the Cellar Door, a literary magazine that celebrates the talents of students at Morton Ranch High School in the forms of poetry, fiction, short stories, essays, plays, photography, and other forms of art.

On the right we have submissions forms that you can attach to your file and then you can just email it to us. We want to hear your thoughts on love, life, death, laughter, tears, we want to hear whatever you have to say.

So submit to the Cellar Door literary magazine, you'll fit right in.

A Holiday Reminder

When you submit to the Cellar Door, don't forget to reread your work. The editors will of course, edit, but our job is to look for grammar, not change the integrity of your brainchild.
